So this was an exciting hunt! The weather was cold and it had been snowing off and on so on this particular hunt I decided I would bring my blind and just set up on the edge of the cut corn field and see what happened. A couple of hours into my sit I started hearing a couple of what I thought were turkeys faintly gobbling up on the ridge across the field from me. I reached for my pack and pulled out my Turkey calls and started throwing out some soft yelps to see what would happen and to my surprise…. 6 jakes came flying down off the ridge out into the field edge in front of me. They would spend about 45mins grazing before giving me a shot and put on a total show in the process so I was having a blast. This would become my first ever fall turkey, and my first ever crossbow turkey.
